For the tracks generating real discourse.
A weekly series for songs sitting at the center of controversy, conflict, or a sharp disparity in reception — score vs. public consensus, critical divides, overhyped or underrated takes.
Same rigor. One extra question.
Every Flashpoint gets the full treatment — score, tier, and category-by-category analysis, identical to a standard review. What's added is a dedicated section answering one question: what's the actual disagreement here, and what does the rubric say about it?
The Flashpoint label
Every Flashpoint piece is tagged clearly — across the site and on social — so it's never mistaken for a routine review.
Named disagreement
The piece states plainly what the discourse actually is — a critical divide, an overhyped reception, an underrated track, or a score that cuts against consensus.
Rubric receipts
The take is backed by at least one category from the rubric — composition, production, lyrics, and so on — not just an opinion.
Reserved, not routine
Not every interesting track is a Flashpoint. The label is reserved for genuine discourse — not tracks that are merely useful case studies for a broader trend.
